Multi-Coin Scanner

Runs one strategy across many coins with a walk-forward split: the in-sample segment is where an edge would have been discovered, the out-of-sample segment is scored blind. Results are ranked by OOS Sharpe and summarized by how many coins stay profitable — a formula that only works on one cherry-picked chart is noise. Note the coin list itself is today's survivors, so historical results carry survivorship bias.

Signals are computed once per coin over the full window and sliced at the split date; the OOS simulation starts flat with full warmup history, exactly like an account funded on that day.

Scan the KDJ Cross strategy across every coin

Fast oscillator signals like the KDJ cross are the most regime-sensitive of the built-in strategies: they thrive on rotation and chop, and bleed in one-way trends. This scan runs the rule — long when K crosses above D (9/3/3), flat on the cross down — across the whole coin universe, each coin split walk-forward.

Ranking by out-of-sample Sharpe shows where the short-term reversal edge survived on data the strategy was never tuned on. The IS vs OOS columns side by side are especially revealing here: oscillator strategies often look brilliant in-sample and decay immediately out of sample.

How it works

  1. Pick an interval, the coin universe (majors or all) and the walk-forward split.
  2. The strategy formula loads into the editor, fully editable.
  3. Set fees and slippage, then scan — every coin is backtested with the same rules.
  4. Rank by out-of-sample Sharpe, return, drawdown or win rate.

Frequently asked questions

Why scan KDJ crosses across many coins?

A single chart cannot tell skill from luck for a signal this noisy. Scanning the whole universe with a held-out segment shows whether the K/D cross edge is broad-based — or concentrated in a few coins whose regimes happened to fit.

Which KDJ scan column should I trust?

The OOS (out-of-sample) columns: OOS Sharpe is the default ranking, with OOS return, max drawdown, win rate and outperformance vs buy & hold one click away. IS columns are shown for contrast — they were effectively tuned on.
