Indicator Studio
Live formula editor with autocomplete, hover docs and instant chart preview — one workspace for indicators, backtests and scans.
A real code editor for the formula language
The Studio pairs a CodeMirror-powered editor — syntax colors, function/operator autocomplete, hover documentation — with a live preview that re-evaluates your formula a third of a second after you stop typing. Every keypress runs through the same WASM engine that powers the Indicator Lab, the Strategy Backtester and the Multi-Coin Scanner.
Three modes, one engine
- Indicator — candles + your plotted lines, live.
- Backtest — define ENTRY/EXIT lines, tune capital/fees/stops, watch equity vs buy & hold.
- Scanner — run the strategy across crypto majors, top coins, US stocks & ETFs, or indices/FX/commodities with in-sample vs out-of-sample splits.
Frequently asked questions
What is the Indicator Studio?
A live code workspace for the site formula language: write an indicator and see it rendered on the chart as you type, switch to Backtest mode to simulate ENTRY/EXIT rules with fees, slippage, stop-loss and take-profit, or Scanner mode to walk-forward test the strategy across a whole universe of assets.
Does the editor help me write formulas?
Yes. The editor has multi-color syntax highlighting, context-aware autocomplete for all 45 engine functions plus the built-in indicators — KDJ(9,3,3), MACD_DIF(12,26), BOLL_UPPER(20,2) and friends are callable inside your own formulas — price arrays and data series, and hover tooltips explaining every function and operator. Ctrl/⌘+Enter runs the formula immediately.
Which markets can I analyze?
Crypto pairs load from OKX and Binance; stocks, ETFs, indices, forex and commodities load through a cached Yahoo Finance relay — the same indicator engine, formulas and backtester across every asset class.
Is my work saved?
The editor keeps one formula per mode in your browser localStorage along with your symbol and interval, so a reload restores the session. Indicators you save to My indicators persist the same way — and the panel exports them as a JSON package you can import on another device or share. Nothing is uploaded — the engine runs entirely in your browser.
